Description
This album features Gambler, a short-lived rock band from Chicago that gained attention opening for Fleetwood Mac and Styx. Their second album, "Love And Other Crimes," released in 1980 by EMI America and produced by the band and Phil Bonanno, blends straight-ahead AOR with radio-friendly tracks reminiscent of bands like Head East and REO Speedwagon. Highlights include the infectious opening track "Something Crazy" and the heartfelt ballad "I Put My Love," featuring standout keyboard work by Bruce Breckenfeld. Despite the album's quality, EMI dropped Gambler shortly after its release as the music landscape shifted towards New Wave.
